Spain 2010
This summer was a practical application of my degree in Intercultural Studies and Art, and in the greater scope of things, the beginning of my life-long journey as a cross-cultural worker and artist. I saw God’s blessing and His glory revealed by everything we did. So many lives were impacted this year, not only Edgies, but also people in the community of Altea. The openness and genuine lifestyle of the Edgies awakened spiritually dead hearts and continues to bear fruit. Many people have commented, “You do God differently.” The truth is, we are revealing the truth of who God is in the midst of everyday life. Through our lifestyle and the love of Christ, people who have been previously hurt by the church are beginning to look past their pain and bitterness and see the face of Jesus instead. One person said, “Colleen, thank you for spreading love. You are transforming the world. I think you are what I have been looking for.” Another person commented, “You’re not like everyone else. You are open, yet confident in your faith. I enjoy our conversations and want to continue.” God is moving people’s hearts and I am so excited to be a part of it. After Edge Project, I was given the opportunity to display my artwork in a local cafebar. It has opened so many doors and been the catalyst of many deep conversations. Someone even commented that I was bringing life back into Altea and that they were excited that people like me are coming to Altea.
